This project begins with passions – a love for the continent of Africa and the kind, gentle people who live there, and a passion for teaching. It’s also about friendship between two continents so far away, but only in physical distance.  The passions and the friendship combine to create nearly endless opportunities to share.

In the northern part of Uganda, children are often found raising their younger siblings and orphans are found working hard to make a better life for themselves and their families.  Against numerous obstacles of poverty and rebel armies, communities work together for the good of all and pray that someday, peace will rule.  Education is the key!  Read more about the land where the Nile begins...

African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries (ALARM) was founded shortly after the Rwandan genocide in 1994 by Celestin Musekura. Education is just one of many ways ALARM is reaching out to the people of Rwanda.

Village of Hope Uganda was founded by Cindy Cunningham who, after one trip to Uganda, knew she could not sit idle and do nothing about the plight of children there. Village of Hope is a great partner in education.
